Class Descriptions + Tuition

 

 

Drawing

- Beginner

This class will focus on basic drawing concepts including form, line, value, color and composition. Students will use pencils, colored pencils, charcoal, pastel and crayons. 

  • 10 weeks: $420 (Winter session)

  • 11 weeks: $480 (Spring session)

  • 21 weeks: $880

- Intermediate

Student will increase their knowledge of basic skills, particularly composition. Students will interpret works of famous artists using different media and colors.

  • 10 weeks: $450 (Winter session)

  • 11 weeks: $490 (Spring session)

  • 21 weeks: $900

- Advanced

Students will create original artwork by using all of their artistic knowledge. All media is available during the class.

  • 10 weeks: $470 (Winter session)

Painting

- Beginner

This class will focus on introducing students to a variety of wet mediums such as acrylic and watercolor. Key concepts will be color mixing, blending, and paint brush stroke application.

  • 21 weeks: $900

For new students interested in painting, on the first day of class we will do a skill evaluation to see what their skill level is and to determine the proper course progression

- Intermediate

Students will expand on their knowledge of basic painting skills and begin shifting more focus to composition. Master artists will be referenced and interpreted by students in their own way.

  • 10 weeks: $470 (Winter session)

  • 11 weeks: $515 (Spring session)

  • 21 weeks: $945

- Advanced

Students will create original artwork using all skills and artistic knowledge they have acquired. All forms of wet media will be available to use in experimental and inventive ways. Formal critiques will become part of the class structure, so students can learn to discuss their work with others.

Competition Class

Students will learn how to research and participate in art contests. This experience will teach students how to follow rules and create quality artwork.

  • 10 weeks: $520 (Winter session)

Animation and Computer Design

Students will learn to make a short animated movie using Flash. They will learn how to hand draw anime-style character's faces with different angles and facial expressions to be used for the film. The movie's background scenes will be created in Photoshop.

Multi-Media

This class will focus on 3D projects and the development of 3D observational skills. Students will use materials such as paper-mache, construction paper, clay, and wire to create animals, trees, buildings, and abstract shapes.

Ceramics

Students will learn to make functional and decorative ceramics by hand. Basic ceramic skills will be taught – coiling, slabs, pinching, modeling.

Stage

Learn to develop a mural that you will use as the scenery of your original play performance. Instructor guided, emphasis on team work, learn simple perspective principals, painting skills, and have with public speaking.
