Class Descriptions + Tuition

 

 

Drawing

- Beginner

This class will focus on basic drawing concepts including form, line, value, color and composition. Students will use pencils, colored pencils, charcoal, pastel and crayons. 

  • 8 weeks: $395

  • 16 weeks: $750

- Intermediate

Student will increase their knowledge of basic skills, particularly composition. Students will interpret works of famous artists using different media and colors.

  • 8 weeks: $420

  • 16 weeks: $800

- Advanced

Students will create original artwork by using all of their artistic knowledge. All media is available during the class.

  • 8 weeks: $460

  • 16 weeks: $880


Painting

- Beginner

This class will focus on introducing students to a variety of wet mediums such as acrylic and watercolor. Key concepts will be color mixing, blending, and paint brush stroke application.

  • 8 weeks: $410

  • 16 weeks: $780

For new students interested in painting, on the first day of class we will do a skill evaluation to see what their skill level is and to determine the proper course progression

- Intermediate

Students will expand on their knowledge of basic painting skills and begin shifting more focus to composition. Master artists will be referenced and interpreted by students in their own way.

  • 8 weeks: $440

  • 16 weeks: $840

- Advanced

Students will create original artwork using all skills and artistic knowledge they have acquired. All forms of wet media will be available to use in experimental and inventive ways. Formal critiques will become part of the class structure, so students can learn to discuss their work with others.

  • 8 weeks: $455

Competition Class

Students will learn how to research and participate in art contests. This experience will teach students how to follow rules and create quality artwork.

  • 8 weeks: $495

Animation and Computer Design

*No make up classes are offered for Animation in the event of an absence*

Students will learn how to translate their drawings into a digital software with a tablet. At the same time, the student will be introduced to hand drawn animation and character creation.

  • 8 weeks: $440

Multi-Media

This class will focus on 3D projects and the development of 3D observational skills. Students will use materials such as paper-mache, construction paper, clay, and wire to create animals, trees, buildings, and abstract shapes.

  • 8 weeks: $350

  • 16 weeks: $700


Ceramics

Students will learn to make functional and decorative ceramics by hand. Basic ceramic skills will be taught – coiling, slabs, pinching, modeling.

  • 8 weeks: $285

- OUR POLICIES -

  • Parent/Guardian must sign and date a physical registration form by the first lesson.

  • The registration form and payment must be completed before the first lesson of each session begins.

  • Payment is required in full (unless otherwise arranged) on time before the first lesson of the session.

  • Tuition is charged by session and may be paid by check, cash, or credit. No credit cards for discounted classes, please.

  • Classes are canceled when the enrollment minimums are not reached.

  • Students may make up a class for which they were absent with the exception of Digital Art and Animation

  • Making up a missed class must be done during the same session the student signed up for.

  • I give permission to Glenview School of Arts to use my child's photograph and academic information on the school website, ads, and also give the option to participate in competitions.

  • Students take their artworks on the last day of each session. Glenview School of Arts is not responsible for any lost artworks.

  • Students must bring their own art supplies to each class. Parents/Guardians will receive an art supply list prior to the first lesson either through e-mail or a phone call.

  • Should a student not bring supplies after two reminders, a $5 rental fee will be charged per lesson for use of the school’s supplies
